Soul Fire Tacos is set to ignite the Scottsdale Airpark dining scene with its grand opening on February 21 at 11 a.m.

This new eatery promises a unique fusion of Southern comfort and Latin flavors, offering a fresh twist to the area's culinary landscape.

Located at 15111 N. Hayden Rd., Suite 120, Soul Fire Tacos is the latest venture from Dana Dumas, the visionary behind the beloved SugarJam The Southern Kitchen.

Just steps away from her original establishment, Dumas aims to blend the rich traditions of Black and Brown cultures through a menu that celebrates their shared culinary heritage.

"Black and Brown cultures have always had synergy," Dumas remarked.

"From our family traditions to our music and our cuisines, bringing the two together was a no-brainer."

The menu boasts an array of enticing options, including beer-battered catfish tacos, short rib birria tacos, crispy Japanese panko shrimp, and tequila lime wings.

A standout item is the Soul Roll, a deep-fried creation filled with mac and cheese, candied yams, and greens, embodying the restaurant's commitment to comfort food with a twist.

Leading the kitchen is Chef Johnnie Dixon, a former Ohio State wide receiver who has transitioned from the gridiron to the culinary world.

"I always preach about being different and being more viewed as more than just an athlete," Dixon shared.

"I enjoy seeing people up when they eat something I made, and I hope to bring many smiles to the Arizona community."

The 900-square-foot space offers seating for up to 24 guests, creating an intimate dining experience.

Operating hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To celebrate the grand opening, patrons can enjoy a complimentary chicken or carnitas taco with the purchase of any taco, burrito, or bowl.

As the Scottsdale Airpark continues to evolve, Soul Fire Tacos adds a vibrant and flavorful option to the array of taco restaurants and new restaurants in Scottsdale.

Its arrival underscores the area's dynamic growth and the Scottsdale community's appetite for innovative dining experiences.

For those eager to explore the latest in Scottsdale Airpark restaurants, Soul Fire Tacos offers a compelling destination that bridges cultures and flavors in every bite.
